The Chidlow volunteer bushfire brigade was founded in 1950. It is part of the Bush Fire Service of the Department of Fire and Emergency Services (DFES) in Western Australia. The brigade, along with eight others and a communications brigade with a fully equipped Incident Control Vehicle, is part of the Shire of Mundaring.

The Permit season is now in force. Anyone wanting to reduce fuel loadings on their property by burning require a Permit. Please come along to the station on a Saturday morning between 9-11am to ask for one.
